The Department of Theory, Practice and Translation of German at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute has been successfully cooperating with many foreign organizations for many years.

This is, first of all, the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD. Founded in 1925, this organization aims to promote partnerships between higher education institutions around the world. DAAD provides opportunities for students, young scientists and teachers to study, practice and conduct research abroad. An information center providing the necessary information was launched on April 16, 1998. To raise the prestige of the German language among students, their motivation, and thus their level of foreign language proficiency, DAAD lecturers work annually at the Department of German CCI. In addition to providing advice on scholarships, information about higher education and opportunities for continuing education in Germany, lecturers from the German Academic Exchange Service teach courses for 4th and 5th year students of the School of Linguistics.

Lecturers Claudia and Uwe Date, Henning Seeemann, Andi Heusinger, Lars Leckner, Anja Siebert, Anja Lange, Michael Kleineberg have made a significant contribution to the training of highly educated future specialists at the Faculty of Linguistics. Currently, Michael Kleineberg, a DAAD lecturer, works at the department. Thanks to DAAD lecturers, students of linguistics and technical specialties can get detailed information about scholarship programs offered by foreign universities.

The Department also cooperates with the Goethe-Institut in Kyiv. Students have the opportunity to participate in conferences, seminars and many other events organized by the Goethe Institute. Teachers are also actively involved in the work and have the opportunity to improve their skills at training and practical seminars.

Teachers of the Department of German at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry take an active part in the projects of the Goethe Institute and DAAD.
